We are pleased to announce Piano designer and builder Delwin Fandrich will be joining us later this month at Michael Chau’s Piano Emporium. Working closely with Young Chang since 2009, Fandrich has redesigned their entire product line focusing on improved consistency, soundboard/plate design and hammer production. Fandrich lectures extensively on piano technology and design topics in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and Asia. When not traveling he designs, redesigns, and re-manufactures pianos in his workshop in Olympia, Washington. Thank you Michael and Young Chang Canada for bringing us this respected person in our industry. To: All members We hope to see you at our first meeting of the 2011-12 year. Kirk Shibley will hold a discussion on the piano business in terms of which brands belong to which parent company and from which country they are imported along with other related information. It is easy to fall behind on this information so this will help to take a step back and see the industry as a whole. There will also be brief technical presentation TBA. We’re hoping to do this every meeting so anyone interested in sharing some knowledge or a trick of the trade is welcome to do so. Let us know if you have something. In October, Del Fandarich from Young Chang will make a presentation at Mike Chau’s Piano Emporium in Vaughn. This will be open to all technicians so we will not have a business meeting at that time. This will be posted here and an email will be sent out with the details when they are available. Details for November 25th meeting Hello Everyone, We have organized the fall meeting and it will be taking place at Cosmo Music Superstore 10 Via Renzo Drive, Richmond Hill. Located between Elgin Mills Rd E. and Major Mackenzie Dr E. East off Leslie Ave and West of the 404. Date/Time: November 25, 2010 Following the business meeting we will have a look at the lines of pianos available at the superstore. This will be hosted by Sales Manager John Ebata. It will be good opportunity to ‘pick the brain of a veteran sales person in our field. As a supplement to the presentation and Q&A, Kathy Normandeau will be offering some insights into choosing the right piano for a given situation/customer. Plan on arriving early so you can have a look around this mammoth 55000 square foot store. We look forward to seeing you! |
